Lavres Safety Security Group

Event security

Lavres event security in Toronto covers everything from corporate galas to music festivals, film productions to private celebrations. We prepare before the event starts, stay attentive while it runs, and handle whatever comes up with calm.

01 — EVENT TYPES

Events we cover

Five families of events Lavres covers across Toronto, the GTA, and Ottawa — each with its own pace, audience, and ground rules.

  1. Event 01

    Corporate events

    Boardroom
    to launch

Board meetings, product launches, conferences, celebrations. Discreet, aware, professional — guards who blend in to the corporate environment.

  2. Event 02

    Concerts & live

    Stage
    to backstage

Crowd flow, stage access, backstage, VIP coordination. We know live events — the pressure, the energy, the moments when things escalate.

  3. Event 03

    Film & production

    Set
    to lock-up

Sets, equipment, controlled environments. Guards briefed on production protocols — call times, restricted zones, equipment staging.

  4. Event 04

    Community events

    Gathering
    to goodbye

Street festivals, cultural celebrations, neighbourhood gatherings. Guards who engage with attendees and keep things safe, not heavy-handed.

  5. Event 05

    Private functions

    Felt,
    not seen

Weddings, galas, private parties. Security for private events should be felt, not seen — managed with discretion and cue awareness.

02 — OUR PROCESS

Before, during, after.

Three phases. Every guard is briefed, the venue is walked, and the night is covered front to back.

Before the event

  • Site walkthrough

We visit the venue before your event to understand the layout, identify access points, map emergency exits, and plan guard positioning. Our guards arrive on event day already familiar with the layout.

  • Briefing

Every guard assigned to your event receives a detailed briefing: event type, expected attendance, VIP requirements, restricted areas, alcohol service status, and escalation protocols. No one shows up cold.

  • Coordination

We coordinate with your event team, venue management, and any other vendors on-site ahead of time. Security works best integrated with the rest of the operation, not operating in isolation off to the side.

During the event

  • Crowd management

Managing crowd flow, entry lines, and capacity zones. Our guards are trained to read a crowd — knowing when to redirect, when to de-escalate, and when to hold a position firmly without escalating things.

  • VIP coordination

Separate entry, backstage access, escort services, and private area management. VIP security is about discretion and timing — getting the right people to the right places without unnecessary friction.

  • Active monitoring

Eyes on the room, not on a phone. Lavres guards maintain active awareness throughout the event — scanning for risks, responding to incidents, and communicating with the team in real time, every moment.

After the event

  • Clearance & shutdown

Guards manage the departure process, secure the venue during breakdown, and protect equipment overnight when needed. Events don’t end when the guests leave — security covers the full close-out properly.

03 — SMART SERVE

Smart Serve certified.

Every Lavres employee holds Smart Serve certification.

For alcohol-licensed events in Ontario, this matters. The Liquor Licence Act requires responsible service practices at any event where alcohol is served. Our guards aren’t learning on the job — they’re trained and certified before they arrive at your venue.

Smart Serve certification means our guards understand

  • Responsible alcohol service and ongoing monitoring
  • Signs of intoxication and intervention protocols
  • Legal obligations under Ontario’s Liquor Licence Act
  • How to handle situations involving over-service

If your event serves alcohol, your security team should be Smart Serve certified. Ours is.

04 — WHAT COULD GO WRONG

What we fix

Someone walked onto our film set

Production breaches aren’t minor — they cost time, money, sometimes a full day’s work. Lavres guards are briefed on production protocols before they arrive on set. They know the restricted zones, the call times, and the difference between an authorized crew member and an intruder.

What if someone gets over-served?

Alcohol-related incidents create liability for organizers, venues, and security providers. With every Lavres guard holding Smart Serve certification, your security team understands responsible service — and knows how to intervene before a situation escalates.

Guards didn’t know the event layout

This is what pre-event walkthroughs prevent. Every Lavres guard assigned to your event has reviewed the venue layout, knows the emergency exits, understands the flow plan, and has been briefed on VIP and restricted areas.

Overnight, our gear disappeared

Equipment theft during event teardown is more common than most organizers expect. Lavres provides overnight guards during setup and breakdown, protecting staging areas, A/V equipment, and any assets that can’t be moved out once the night ends.

05 — HIGH-END EXPERIENCE

Where every detail matters.

We’ve protected events where every detail matters — where the guest experience is the product, and security needs to enhance it, not undermine it.

06 — FAQ

CommonQuestions

What types of events does Lavres provide security for?

Concerts, corporate events, film and television productions, community festivals, private functions, weddings, and galas. Home base is the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa; we take event contracts across Ontario.

Are your guards Smart Serve certified?

Yes. Every Lavres employee, Arnaldo included, holds Smart Serve certification. For any event where alcohol is served, our guards are trained in responsible service and intervention under Ontario’s Liquor Licence Act.

Do you visit the venue before the event?

Yes. We conduct a pre-event site walkthrough to understand the layout, access points, emergency exits, and guard positioning. Our guards arrive on event day already familiar with the space and briefed on event requirements.

Can you handle VIP security at events?

Yes. VIP coordination includes separate entry management, backstage access, escort services, and private area security. Our approach is discreet and professional — VIP guests should feel protected, not followed.

What experience does Lavres have with large events?

Arnaldo brings 10+ years of frontline experience in high-end hospitality and entertainment environments across Toronto. Crowd reading, de-escalation, VIP coordination, and the ability to stay calm when things get intense.
