PSISA licence

Every guard must hold a valid individual security guard licence issued by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General under PSISA.

Preferred

Smart Serve certification

Smart Serve makes you eligible for event security and hospitality assignments. Strong candidates without it are still encouraged to apply.

Common Questions

What are the requirements to become a security guard with Lavres?

You need a valid PSISA security guard licence issued by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General. Smart Serve certification is preferred for hospitality and event security assignments. Beyond credentials, we look for professionalism, empathy, and reliability.

Do I need a PSISA licence before applying to Lavres?

Yes. A valid individual PSISA licence is required before you can be deployed on any assignment. If you’re in the process of obtaining your licence, you can still submit your application and we’ll follow up once you’re licensed.

Yes. Every Lavres guard receives a company-provided professional uniform. Our uniforms are a core part of our brand — clean, branded, and designed to project the hospitality-first presence our clients expect.

What areas does Lavres assign guards to?

We assign guards to properties across Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area — including Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, and surrounding municipalities — and Ottawa. Your assignment depends on your location, availability, and the client’s needs.
